The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is conducted for admission to professional courses such as Engineering, Pharmacy (Bachelor's and Diploma programmes), Farm Science and Veterinary courses in Karnataka. The KCET is generally conducted just after the PUC board exams; however, these two do not overlap. Since there is a short preparation time and similar syllabi, students begin preparation for both exams in class 11. JAIN College’s Integrated Programme helps students prepare for KCET alongside their PUC. The course has many benefits that we will look into in this blog.
The KCET is conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admissions to professional courses in Karnataka. It is an offline exam. The syllabus is based on the PUC Science syllabus for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
JAIN College is associated with ALLEN Institute, a leading coaching centre for JEE, NEET, COMEDK and KCET. Together, the two institutions have designed the Integrated Programme that covers both the PUC syllabus and KCET requirements. After class 10, students who choose the Science stream can opt for the Integrated Programme to access KCET coaching from the ALLEN Institute at the JAIN College campus.
PCMB: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology
PCMC: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science
PCME: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Electronics

Although the KCET syllabus is based on the PUC Science syllabus, the exam pattern and aim are different. Hence, the preparation strategy must be adjusted for both exams. KCET is an offline exam with OMR sheets where students will solve 180 questions in 180 minutes. All questions are compulsory and carry one mark each, with no negative marking for wrong answers.
