About Kalakriti 

Kalakriti is an inter-collegiate fest (open to all PUC students) organised by the Department of Humanities that focuses on the overall development of the participants. Kalakriti is not just a fest but an emotion, an expression of wisdom, freedom and art. A forum that is an amalgamation of intellectual thoughts and artistic performances. It will be a platform for participants to experience humanities in the most innovative way that educates, entertains, and engages the student.

Objectives

  • Kalakriti develops students' competencies in acquiring and applying knowledge.
  • Students develop problem solving abilities.
  • Students also acquire teamwork, communication, experimental skills along with leadership skills.

Guidelines

  • The fest is open to all Pre-University students and 11th and 12th standard.
  • ID cards are necessary for all participants.
  • Participants must register beforehand.
  • Pen drives, CDs or audio/video/pictures must be given to us prior to the event and must be clearly labelled with the name of the participant along with her/his team and college name.
  • Management shall not be responsible for the belongings of participants.
  • Judges’ decisions for all events will be final.
  • Participants are expected to be on time for the events, being late will lead to disqualification of the team.
  • Participants can only participate in one event.
  • Participants from an institution should be accompanied by a teacher.
  • An institution should take part in a minimum of 6 events to be eligible for the 'Best Institution' award.
  • Participants should wear modest clothing. They may wear uniforms or regular college attire.

Dastaan E Mitti (Slam Poetry)

Description: When I think of brown, I think of chai, and the colour of your eyes. Come tell stories of the soul of our soil and the echoes of the unheard cries.

Guidelines:

  • This is a solo event.
  • The prelims will be taking place on the 13th September in the Seminar Hall.
  • The finals will take place on the 14th September.
  • Time limit is 3+1 minutes.
  • Usage of inappropriate language is strictly prohibited.
  • Only English is allowed.
  • Work must be original, usage of devices/ AI is strictly prohibited.
  • Violation of any of the above mentioned guidelines will lead to immediate disqualifications.

Adalaat (Moot Court)

Theme: Prominent legal cases from the Indian Subcontinent

Tagline: Defend! Debate! Dominate!

Description: Adaalat is a moot court simulation competition. Adaalat provides a perfect platform for aspiring lawyers to showcase their skills in arguing and presenting their cases effectively and bring the best lawyers out of them.

Guidelines:

  • This is a solo event.
  • The briefing and prelims of the event is going to take place on the 12th September online (3:00 - 4:00 pm).
  • The finals is going to take place on the 14th September.
  • Time limit for finals: 2 Hours for the overall event.
  • Cases/ prompts will be given a day prior.
  • The timings for participants will depend upon the case.
  • Participants will be given the details of the case a day prior.
  • Inappropriate language is strictly prohibited
  • The judge’s decision is final.
  • Violation of any of the above mentioned guidelines will lead to immediate disqualification.

  • Participants will have to make a model based on the theme
  • The display of the models is taking place on the 14th September.
  • The theme will be given prior, hence the participants are required to make the model prior.

Description: This is now, this live and this is present. From glitz to glamour - show us the story! Focus on both the dazzling performance and the hidden backstage action. Create a captivating news segment that delivers the fest’s highlights with flair and authenticity.

Guidelines:

  • This is a trio event
  • This event is going to take place on the 14th September.
  • The participants have to report Kalakriti in the form of a video.
  • The time limit for the video is 3 minutes.
  • The video must be submitted by 11:45 a.m. sharp.
  • Participants are allowed to interview other participants outside their team (with consent).
  • Usage of Inappropriate language is strictly prohibited.
  • Submission of the video is online.
  • Violation of any of the above mentioned guidelines will lead to immediate disqualifications.

  • Personal attacking towards the other participants is strictly prohibited.
  • Discrimination or showing disrespect towards any race, religion, caste, gender, etc. is strictly prohibited.
  • The costumes are required to be modest.

Theme: Plays from the Indian Subcontinent

Description: As actors step into the spotlight and give life to characters from ink and paper, they embody their imagination and celebrate art through their performance. Step into the realm of drama with Natavedika - a theatre affair bringing to life plays from across the Indian subcontinent. Aaaaaaannndddd, END SCENE!

Guidelines:

  • This is a group event. Each group can have 4-6 people.
  • The preliminary round is on September 13th in the seminar hall.
  • The time limit for the preliminary round is: 10-15 minutes.
  • The final round is on the 14th of September.
  • The time limit for the final round is: 10-15 minutes
  • The participant must wear appropriate and modest costumes.
  • Usage of inappropriate language is prohibited.
  • Stick to the time limit.
  • Violation of any of the above-mentioned guidelines will lead to immediate disqualifications.

  • The prelims of this event is going to happen online where the participants will be sending a video of themselves on the 13th of September.
  • The prelims video time limit is 2+1 minutes.
  • The finals are going to take place on 14th of September.
  • The time limit for the finals is 6+2 minutes.
  • The participants must have decent knowledge about current political issues around the world.
  • Usage of inappropriate language is prohibited.
  • Stick to the time limit.
  • Personal attacking is prohibited.

Event Description: Step into the spotlight and showcase your innovative business ideas to industry sharks. Only this time the difference is in society. Being in the innovation through business acumen and social commitment.

Guidelines:

  • This is a duo event.
  • The prelims is going to take place on the 13th September.
  • Time limit for the prelims is 2+1 minutes.
  • The finals is going to take place on the 14th September.
  • The time limit for the finals is 3+2 minutes.
  • Participants are required to pitch the tools, strategies or products that can help people during a pandemic/natural disaster.
  • The idea/product must be original.
  • Slogans, pitches, etc. cannot be copied.
  • No use of AI or other online sources.
  • Can use PowerPoint presentations (original).
  • The judge’s decision is final.
  • Violation of any of the above mentioned guidelines will lead to immediate disqualifications.

Theme: Tribes of the Indian subcontinent

Tagline: Art in your style, bedazzles our eyes, Narrative of the tribe, is it worth the hype

Description: Earthy colours of the tribes meet artistic expression of the culture portrayed by you. Climb up the paths of their history to uncover their lifestyle and foster your very own paragon.

Guidelines:

  • This is a duo event (the artist and the model).
  • The event is on the 14th of September.
  • Materials required: paint, brushes, pallets, stationeries, etc.
  • Participants are required to bring their own materials.
  • The participants are required to be theme specific.
  • Build a narrative on any one Tribal group. Can include their culture, history, food, etc.
  • Only paint should be used.
  • The painting should be finished by 11:30 a.m. sharp.
  • Usage of devices/AI is strictly prohibited.
  • Violation of any of the above mentioned guidelines will lead to immediate disqualification.

The Mentalist (Mind Games)

Theme: Diagnosis and mock therapy

Tagline: Crack the case, enact the case, be a mentalist

Description: In this mind stimulating game, participants will be given an opportunity to crack a case study and conduct a simulated therapy session.

Guidelines:

  • The mentalist is a duo event with two rounds.
  • The first round will be a pen and paper test in which the participants will be given a case study based on psychological disorders and make a diagnosis of the given case. (30 + 10 minutes)
  • The second round is the mock therapy session study where the participants with their partner have to conduct a mock therapy session based on the case study. The mock therapy session will be held for 10 + 5 minutes.

Urbis Consilium (Town Planning)

Theme: Towns of Indian Subcontinent

Tagline: Design your dream town where imagination meets innovation

Description: Bring your imagination to life as you draw and design a vibrant, interactive town that could be featured in the next big game.

Guidelines:

  • This is a trio event.
  • This event is going to take place on the 13th September.
  • Usage of cell phones is prohibited.
  • The participants are supposed to make a map of the town based on the prompts.
  • The map must contain a Key/Legend, names of streets, buildings, public service centres, basic hygiene services, etc.
  • The participants will be required to draw the map on an A3 sheet.
  • Usage of inappropriate names is strictly prohibited.
  • Violation of any of the above mentioned guidelines will lead to immediate disqualifications.
