   Aanveekshikee - Research Conclave










Jain Evening College organized Aanveekshikee - Research Conclave from19 to 22 February 2021. The 3-day research conclave was conducted with the main objective to support the research scholars by addressing the challenges in various stages of their research process like problem identification, literature review, Selection of research tools, thesis preparation, and Viva Voce presentation.

Day 1:

The chief guest of the event was Dr. S. R. Keshava, Professor, Department of Economics, Bangalore University. He shared his valuable experience of being a part of the examination panel for the Ph.D. scholars with the audience. The keynote speakers of the event were Dr. S. N. Nataraj, Principal, SBMJC, and Dr. Naveen Kumar. C. M, Principal, Jain College, Vasavi Campus.

The speakers of the day were Dr. Suneel K. S., Dr. Srinidhi V. R., and Dr. Satish A. P, whose topics were overture of research, research movement, and topics in Kannada research respectively.

Dr. Suneel K. S. gave a brief insight about why research is important and how research has gained importance over the years, along with various facts and trivia about research.

Dr. Srinidhi V. R. spoke about how the research aspirants should focus their path of research and how better can they steer through their journey of completing their doctoral degree.

Dr. Satish A. P. talked about the various aspects of research in the Kannada language. It was an interesting interaction that sparked questions and debate between the members.

Day 2:

The second day of the research conclave was presided over by Founder Chairman, Dr. Chenraj Roychand. He motivated and encouraged all the participants to pursue their Ph.D. in topics that fascinated them as well as had some contribution to the gaps in the respective fields. He also addressed the importance of research and its impact on the education sector and the role it plays in the lives of the college faculties and in turn on the stakeholders of the education system.

The speakers of the day were: Dr. Y V Sheshadri, Dr. Dinesh N, Prof. Lakshman K, Dr. Rajendra Tiwari, Prof. Manjunath B spoke on the topics: statistical analysis in research, how to write a literature review, route map for successful research journey, Hindi dohe and relevance of technology and research respectively.

Dr. Y V Sheshadri presented the use of statistical tools and analysis techniques that can be followed in research in order to provide accurate results. He also explained the need for these statistical tools to be used in the current day scenario.

Dr. Dinesh N spoke about how to proceed with the literature review and how to present the same in the report. He stated the importance of literature review in research and how it plays a vital role in setting the research objectives and analyzing the gaps in the previous research.

Prof. Lakshman K presented his journey in research as a fellow researcher. He shared about some of the roadblocks that he had faced and how he was able to overcome the same, along with some valuable insights on how the guides play a pivotal role in the success of a research scholar.

Dr. Rajendra Tiwari gave an insight into the brief history of Hindi Dohe and the roots of Hindi Literature. He also spoke about the different types of literature present in Hindi.

Prof Manjunath B spoke about how technology is impacting the field of research and what are some of the frequently used technological aids/tools that the current day researchers use to make their journey of research as smooth as possible.

Day 3:

The research conclave was presided by Dr. Easwaran Iyer, Pro-Vice Chancellor, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), wherein he spoke about the importance and weightage of research in the lives of all the academicians. He also gave insights about how to choose a topic that has a significant impact on society and is contributing positively to the field of study.

The speakers of the day were: Prof. Shruthi M.S., Dr. Ashwath Yaplalli, Dr. Prasad H.K, Prof. Sanjay, Sri. Bheemareddi. G, Prof. Ajay N, who presented on the topics peer-reviewed journals, अनुसन्धान (Research), significance and guidelines of writing research articles in Ph.D., the role of E-Resources in research, and the path to your Ph.D.

Prof. Shruthi M.S presented on what are peer-reviewed journals, why is it important, and what role it plays in the process of research. She also gave an insight on what are the different types of peer-reviewed journals and about the process of how the peer review takes place.

Dr. Ashwath Yaplalli presented what is research, what are the different types of research, how to proceed with a research topic, and also shared his valuable experience of his journey in completing his Doctoral degree.

Dr. Prasad H.K. presented the significance and guidelines of writing a research article, which is a part of any Ph.D., where the research scholars have to publish a number of research articles. While in the process of publishing the articles, what are the steps that have to be followed in order to have a good article was the essence of his topic.

Prof. Sanjay talked about an eponymous work called The Body of God written by D Dennis Hudson on Indian Mythography. Sir talked about how research work must be and how it must be not a means to an end but a serious undertaking that focuses on the advancement of learning.

Shri Bheemareddi G presented the role of E-resources in research, wherein the emphasis was given on the different resources that aid the research scholars to easily access the previous research publications which would support their research topics.

Prof. Ajay N presented on how to initiate and proceed with research for all the research aspirants, which also doubled as a recap of the 3 days’ research conclave. He summarized the essence of all the topics addressed in a very concise format which gave a summary of the whole event.
