Department of Humanities at JAIN College made the last-minute decision to participate in Fahrenheit 2022, the 17th edition of the intra-college fest. Within the short span of a week, the dedicated students practised and auditioned for more than 10 events and were stage ready. Dr. Abhishek, the Head of Student Affairs and Program Development, auditioned students within the department and placed them in appropriate teams to ensure they deliver performances at their maximum potential. After days of practice, auditions, and hard work, the students stood prepared for the fest and its competitions. The Department of Humanities took part in Fahrenheit for the first time this year.
On day 1 at Kuvempu Kalakshetra, the fest kicked off with an inaugural dance performance by President Chinmayi, followed by a dance performance by Surabhi. Both performances enthralled the audience. Mehak made the department proud by securing a runner-up position in the Best Manager competition. A group of students including Sushmitha, Aapthi, Swara, Neha, Rashi, and Devi presented a mindblowing dance performance in the indo-western style. Gunj, Swara, and Michelle from the department got selected for the science quiz. With their fantastic performance, they bagged the second position in the quiz. The team was highly praised for their achievement because they managed to secure a spot in the science quiz despite having a humanities background.
On day 2, a group of students including Gunj, Deepak, Aapti, Rajat, and Jhanvi, secured the second position in the Mad Ads event. The Humanities students showcased their talent in the Nrutyanjali (group dance) and won the first position. In the fashion show, President Chinmayi dazzled the ramp and stood second.
